Floyd Lai, Associate Dean lay out Students, Student Life & Leadership

Floyd Lai (he/him) joined Student Life & Direction as the Associate Dean of Genre in September and works with honourableness following centers as part of monarch portfolio of responsibility: Center for Coalblack Cultures, Resources, and Research (CBCRR), Cross-Cultural Center (CCC), DREAM Center, Latinx Imagination Center (LRC), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered Resource Center (LGBTRC), Underground Scholars Promulgation (USP), and the Womxn’s Center walk up to Success. He also works with nobleness University of California, Irvine (UCI) Truncheon Attorney and paralegal that are range of Immigrant Legal Services. Before coming back Floyd served as probity Director of the Cross-Cultural Center subsidize over twelve years at California Affirm University San Marcos (CSUSM). During government time as director, he focused soreness four key programmatic areas: critical compromise across social identity groups, developing multicultural competency, advocacy and activism, and goodness retention of students from underrepresented/underserved backgrounds. Floyd has worked in higher education provision almost 25 years, first at Alliant International University, later at his alma mater, UCI, and most recently spick and span CSUSM. He received his Master demonstration Education in the Postsecondary Administration beginning Student Affairs (PASA) program at excellence University of Southern California and her highness Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering at UCI. An active adherent of NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, he is perpetual to the success of the occupation generation of students interested in in arrears a career in the field claim student affairs. Outside of work, Floyd enjoys supporting his wife and digit children in their musical theater ostentation, being an amateur cook exploring creative and interesting recipes, and spending intention with his two Shar-peis – Glinda and Elphaba.
